What should I charge for my services?

You decide what price you want to charge for each service that you are offering however we do have some recommended minimum prices: the minimum you should charge for caring for a dog is $20 per day and for a cat is $15 per day.

Your price can vary depending on the services requested by the Pet Owner.  If you are pet sitting (Pet Boarding, Home Visits or House Sitting) you may offer a discount for longer Bookings or Jobs.  You can also, in Services & Rates, set a lower price for additional pets.

You may decide to charge more if the pet needs constant supervision or needs to be taken for two long walks each day or has specialised medication needs.

Do make sure you know exactly what the Pet Owner is expecting from you when giving them a final price, particularly if you are offering multiple services to the one Pet Owner.  It could be a good idea to communicate in writing with the Pet Owner via the “Don’t Fret Pet!” Chat function (and get them to agree by written response) the details of costs of all the services you are offering to them and their pet/s.

Remember to take into account that we need to deduct 15% from the total amount paid to you to cover World Wildlife fund donations, credit card and PayPal processing fees, client support, supporting you, technical support, website development, advertising to ensure there is plenty of business coming your way and, most importantly, Public Liability Insurance.

Special note: Pet Taxi service prices

It is important to consider what price you will charge Pet Owners for picking up their pets in your car and waiting at grooming or vet appointments.  Remember that you are not licensed to also transport the Pet Owner.

How do I change my rates for my services?

From your Dashboard click on #7 ‘Services & Rates’ or, in the left-hand menu, click on My Listing Details and then on Services & Rates.

Once there scroll down to ‘Main Service Rates’ and/or ‘Extra Services Rates’. Click on the service you wish to change and amend the amount. Remember to Save changes.

Some areas will require you to enter an amount for additional pets.  Please enter an amount here even if you only plan to provide the service for one pet.  We have set it up like this so that, when you have been providing this service for some time, should you receive a Booking from a Pet Owner for more than one pet you may decide that you would like to take the Booking.  You are always at liberty to decline any Booking offered to you.

How much is refunded if a Pet Owner cancels their booking or job?

This will depend upon which cancellation policy you have chosen and when the Pet Owner cancels.

To review which policy you selected go to your Dashboard, click on #7 ‘Services & Rates’ or, in the left-hand menu, click on My Listing Details and then on Services & Rates.  The options are:

48 Hours where a full refund will be paid to the Pet Owner if the Booking is cancelled 48 hours before the Pet Services are to be performed based on the booking start date and time

7 Days where a full refund will be paid to the Pet Owner if the Booking is cancelled 7 days before the Pet Services are to be performed based on the booking start date

14 Days where a full refund will be paid to the Pet Owner if the Booking is cancelled 14 days before the Pet Services are to be performed based on the booking start date

Can a Pet Owner be refunded for any reason other than cancellation?

If we determine, in our reasonable discretion, that a Pet Service Provider has failed to provide Pet Care Services in accordance with our guidelines, terms and policies on the portal then we may, in our reasonable discretion, issue a full or partial refund to a Pet Owner.
