What services need a National Crime Check certificate?

Pet Service Providers who have access to Pet Owner’s homes via Home Visit and/or House Sitting services will require a valid, recent National Crime Check certificate. The certificate should be no older than 12 months.

You will need to upload the National Crime Check certificate before you are considered for approval as a Pet Service Provider with “Don’t Fret Pet!”.

How do I obtain a National Crime Check certificate?

Should you be offering a Home Visit and/or House Sitting service you will require a recent National Crime Check certificate. The certificate should be no older than 12 months.

You will need to upload the National Crime Check certificate before you are considered for approval as a Pet Service Provider with “Don’t Fret Pet!”.

I already have a National Crime Check certificate. Do I need another one to be able to do Home Visits and/or House Sitting?

Providing your certificate is no older than 12 months this certificate will suffice. Should it be older than 12 months a new certificate will be required.  You can easily apply for the certificate on your Dashboard #9 ‘Badges & Qualifications’ Police Check Verified.

I hold a Blue Card, will that be sufficient rather than a National Crime Check?

No, a Blue Card is only relevant for a person who is to be working with children and cross-checks for convicted sex offences.

A National Crime Check reveals any criminal history of the applicant.

What do the badges mean?

 

 

First Aid – This badge shows a Pet Service Provider has shown proof in obtaining formal Pet First Aid training from a recognised institution.
 

Police Checked – This badge shows a Pet Service Provider has shown proof in obtaining a National Crime Check.
 

Reliable – This badge shows a Pet Service Provider has proven themselves to be reliable in providing responsible pet care.
 

Background Checked – This badge shows a Pet Service Provider’s personal details have been checked and verified.
 

Interviewed Sitter – This badge shows a Pet Service Provider who provides pet sitting services has been personally interviewed and approved by a “Don’t Fret Pet!” team member. (Only available in some locations.)
 

Responsive – This badge shows a Pet Service Provider responds to Pet Owner enquiries and communications in a timely manner
 

Drivers Licence – This badge indicates that a copy of a current drivers licence has been provided by this Pet Service Provider.
 

Preferred Pet Services Provider – This badge signifies that this Pet Service Provider has expertise and experience and has provided high quality service and performance to Pet Owners.

How do I earn badges?

 

 

First Aid – Proof in obtaining formal Pet First Aid training from a recognised institution must be submitted to “Don’t Fret Pet!”.
 

Police Checked – A valid National Crime Check must be uploaded to “Don’t Fret Pet!”
 

Reliable – After 10 Bookings/Jobs your review average score is no less than 4.5. Let us know if you reach this point and the badge is not automatically added to your profile.
 

Background Checked – Once “Don’t Fret Pet!” has checked and verified your personal details this badge will apply.
 

Interviewed Sitter – Book an interview with a “Don’t Fret Pet!” interviewer and successfully pass the minimum requirements for being an Interviewed Sitter. (Only available in some locations.)
 

Drivers Licence – Upload your licence as Proof of ID.  This is required if you are offering a Pet Taxi service.
 

Preferred Pet Services Provider – This badge signifies that you have demonstrated expertise and experience and provided high quality service and performance to Pet Owners. After 10 Bookings/Jobs your review average score must be no less than 4.9. Let us know if you reach this point and the badge is not automatically added to your profile.
