What if a Pet Owner cancels a Booking or Job?

A Pet Owner can cancel a Booking or Job online and you will be sent an email and sms, if you have registered for sms notification, immediately.

When you set up your profile you should select your cancellation policy via the Dashboard #7 ‘Services & Rates’ or via in My Listing Details > Services & Rates.  Selecting the cancellation policy is an important step. The policies are in place to protect you from last minute cancellations that result in you not receiving an income for that period.  Whilst there is the opportunity to select 48hrs as the minimum notice needed for a full refund to be processed, we highly recommend you select no less that the 7 days cancellation policy.

The cancellation policy options are:

  • 48 Hours – a full refund will be paid to the Pet Owner if the Booking or Job is cancelled 48 hours before the Pet Services are to be performed based on the Booking/Job start date and time
  • 7 Days – a full refund will be paid to the Pet Owner if the Booking or Job is cancelled 7 days before the Pet Services are to be performed based on the Booking/Job start date
  • 14 Days – a full refund will be paid to the Pet Owner if the Booking or Job is cancelled 14 days before the Pet Services are to be performed based on the Booking/Job start date

If you don’t select a cancellation policy then any Pet Owner who cancels at any time will be entitled to a full refund.

What should I do if I need to cancel a Booking or Job?

At “Don’t Fret Pet!”, we understand that all Pet Service Providers are human and sometimes extreme, unavoidable situations can occur that require you to cancel a Booking or Job.

Cancelling a Booking or Job is not to be taken lightly as, not only does this create stress and upheaval for the Pet Owner, but your reputation as a reliable carer can be damaged. If, however, a cancellation is deemed absolutely necessary, it is essential that you immediately let the Pet Owner know by viewing your Booking/Job in the Current Bookings or Current Jobs tab and selecting Decline Booking or Decline Job. This will automatically generate an email that will be sent to the Pet Owner as well as to your Pawsome Support Heroes.

Ideally, you should provide a minimum of 14 days’ notice.  If you cancel a booking you will not be entitled to any payment for that booking.
